TINA IS PROUD TO SUPPORT BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES
Born during Black History Month, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical’s new year-round initiative supports local Black-owned businesses. In partnership with the cast, creative team, and producers of TINA, we are striving to create more opportunities for communities beyond the four walls of our theatre.
Each month, we’ll shine our spotlight on a different local Black-owned business or restaurant! If you own a business or would like to tell us about one in your community, fill out the form below.
MONTHLY SPOTLIGHT FORMMONTHLY SPOTLIGHT
Backstage Niche is a community of freelancers from culturally diverse backgrounds who work in technical and backstage theatre, each freelancer has been recommended by one another. Therefore, it is a safe space for us to be represented by trusting co-workers and to find others in the same field.
Our aim is to encourage the involvement of young people into technical/backstage theatre as well as supporting other freelance technical/backstage theatre professionals from different cultural backgrounds. We feel it's important to inform, engage and encourage young theatre makers from different backgrounds about technical/backstage theatre and aim to close the diversity gap. This includes mentorships, work experience, panel talks, workshops and a database of theatre workers where companies and theatre establishments can find a diverse group of freelancers.
In addition to this, we advertise our Niche Freelancers on our website and social media to avoid excuses such as: "We weren't able to find anyone" or "We didn't know where to look".
