Sound Designer

A seasoned Broadway sound designer, Nevin provided the sound design for multiple Tony® Award-winning musical phenomenon Hamilton, receiving the Drama Desk Award and Lucile Lortel Award for his work on the original off-Broadway production at the Public Theater in 2014. Most recently, Nevins’s work on Broadway includes the 6-time Tony® Award-winning contemporary smash hit Dear Evan HansenBandstand, Steve Martins Bright Star, It Should Have Been You and Terrance McNally’s Mothers And Sons.

Nevin received a Tony® Award nomination for Best Sound Design for the revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Broadway), and has also worked off-Broadway, where his work includes the world premiere of John Kander and Greg Pierce’s The Landing at The Vineyard Theatre, and Far From Heaven for Playwrights Horizons.

Formerly, Nevin was a founding principal of the prolific sound design firm Acme Sound Partners, providing sound design services for dozens of Broadway shows, including Tony® Award winners: The Gershwins’ Porgy and BessHair, Monty Python’s SpamalotThe Light In The PiazzaAvenue Q and La Bohème; earning him Tony® Award nominations for Best Sound Design in each of the first five years the award was given (for The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, Bengal Tiger at The Baghdad Zoo, Fences starring Viola Davis and Denzel Washington, Hair, and In The Heights). Also during his tenure, Acme received six Drama Desk Award nominations and won the Drama Desk Award four times, for Porgy and BessBengal TigerRagtime and La Bohème. 

Nevin is the Audio Consultant for Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium.
