Creator of Joop van den Ende Theaterproducties and TV giant Endemol, Joop van den Ende founded Stage Entertainment in 1998. The company has become one of the world’s largest theatre producers and owners, winning numerous awards for its work, including: Tony® Awards for original musical Titanic, 42nd Street, Into the Woods, Urinetown and original musical Rocky, co-produced with Sylvester Stallone. In 2011, original musical Sister Act, a co-production with Whoopi Goldberg, was nominated for four Olivier Awards on the West End and five Tony® Awards for its transfer to Broadway. The show subsequently became a global smash hit, playing internationally in Hamburg, Berlin, Oberhausen, Stuttgart, Montreal, Vienna, Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Korea, Brazil, Tokyo, the Netherlands and
Singapore. Original musical Anastasia, premiered on Broadway in April 2017. Today, Joop van den Ende is co-chairman and a member of the Stage Entertainment supervisory board, as well as still being actively involved as a senior producer. In 2001, Joop van den Ende and his wife Janine established the VandenEnde Foundation, one of the Netherlands’ largest private foundations, which supports cultural and educational projects and stimulates cultural entrepreneurship.
